Capas residents accept nCoV quarantine facility amid safety assurances

Capas, Tarlac residents remain hesitant but understand the national interest of using New Clark City as a quarantine facility for Filipinos repatriated from China due to 2019 novel coronavirus.

On Sunday, 30 Filipinos arrived at Athletes' Village in New Clark City after being quarantined on board a chartered flight.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año assured residents of safety measures and emphasized that the national government decided out of necessity and national interest despite Capas LGU's initial opposition.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III earlier described the new quarantine site as more strategically located with better facilities compared to Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija.
