Ateneo, NU set for fourth straight Finals in UAAP Men's Badminton

Ateneo de Manila University and National University maintained their perfect records with contrasting victories on Tuesday in the UAAP Season 87 Men's Badminton Tournament, setting up a fourth consecutive Finals showdown between the two teams.

The Blue Eagles defeated UP Fighting Maroons, 3-1, after Lyrden Laborte clinched the victory with decisive wins in singles and doubles matches.

National University routed University of Santo Tomas Golden Shuttlers, securing a clean sweep with a score of 3-0 to advance to their fourth straight Finals appearance.

Ateneo's head coach Kennie Asuncion praised his team's performance, while National University head coach Jaime Llanes emphasized consistency moving forward and urged his players to focus on each game individually.

The defending champion Ateneo de Manila University will face off against National University in the title showdown at 8 a.m. on Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Badminton Hall.
