Phivolcs respects vice mayor’s feelings, stands firm on Taal alert

Phivolcs responded to criticism from Talisay, Batangas' vice mayor by stating they are doing their best to provide accurate information about the restive Taal Volcano.

Taal remains under Alert Level 4, indicating a hazardous eruption is possible within hours to days. High-risk areas around the volcano were evacuated.

Phivolcs chief Maria Antonia Bornas said they respect the vice mayor's feelings but remain firm in their scientific stance.

On Monday, Phivolcs reiterated that evacuees should stay out of the danger zone as Alert Level 4 remains in effect for a second week.
