Taal eruption affects over 104K families in CALABARZON

The number of families affected by Taal Volcano's eruption has risen to 104,645, impacting around 396,731 individuals in Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and Quezon.

As of Tuesday, 39,076 families are being sheltered in 535 evacuation centers while the rest are staying with relatives or friends.

Damage to infrastructure and agriculture in affected areas is estimated at PHP3.35 billion, with assistance provided by DSWD and DOH totaling PHP80.88 million.

The alert level was lowered from Alert Level 4 to Alert Level 3 on January 19, allowing residents outside the 7-kilometer danger zone to return home, though activity will be monitored for two more weeks before further adjustments.
