Alas Pilipinas reaches VTV Cup semis, loses bronze medal match

Alas Pilipinas advanced to the VTV Cup semifinals by defeating Thailand's Est Cola 25-17, 25-21, 25-21 on Thursday but lost to Chinese Taipei in the bronze medal match with scores of 17-25, 24-26, and 22-25 on Saturday.

Brooke Van Sickle led Alas Pilipinas with 10 points while Eya Laure returned from illness and contributed crucial points in the second set against Thailand.

In a hard-fought match, Alas Pilipinas put up a brave stand but ultimately fell short to Chinese Taipei despite erasing deficits and taking leads in some sets.

Alas Pilipinas has now won three consecutive matches in the tournament, including victories over China and Australia; however, they will now focus on the upcoming SEA V.League 2025.
