Alas Pilipinas wins first SEA V.League match over Vietnam

Alas Pilipinas secured their first victory in the 2025 SEA V.League's opening leg by defeating Vietnam with scores of 25-17, 25-23, and 25-19 on Wednesday at Candon City Arena.

Eco Adajar stepped up as the new setter after Owa Retamar fell ill, while Leo Ordiales led scoring efforts with a game-high 20 points from attacks alone.

Despite the absence of captain Marck Espejo and rising star spiker Louie Ramirez, Alas Pilipinas showed resilience and control under Adajar's guidance, ensuring that the team remained prepared to deliver in his first full match as the starting setter.

Buds Buddin contributed significantly with 16 points including four blocks and 12 attacks, while Jade Disquitado had nine points.

Alas Pilipinas will face Thailand on Thursday at Candon City Arena, continuing their preparation for the Philippine-hosted 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship.
