Alas Pilipinas fourth in VTV Women's Cup after loss to Chinese Taipei

Alas Pilipinas secured fourth place in the VTV Women's International Cup after falling to Chinese Taipei in straight sets (17-25, 24-26, 22-25) on Saturday.

Despite a strong effort in the second and third sets, Alas could not recover from an early deficit and settled for fourth place, marking an improvement from last year's last-place finish.

Eya Laure tied the game at 19-all with a back-row spike in the second set, but Alas ultimately lost after Vanie Gandler's attack went out of bounds to give Chinese Taipei a decisive lead.

A yellow card warning was issued to Alas following a successful challenge by Chinese Taipei, leading to a 23-22 deficit that they could not recover from.

Alas Pilipinas had previously defeated Sichuan Wuliangchun and Australia in the preliminaries and also beat EST Cola of Thailand in the playoffs before losing to Korabelka in the semifinals.
