Alarcon leads UP to UAAP win, secures Final Four spot

Harold Alarcon led the University of the Philippines (UP) to a 77-67 victory over the University of the East (UE) in the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament on Wednesday, November 20, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

Alarcon scored a career-high 33 points and five rebounds, including 16 points in the fourth quarter that denied UE an outright playoff berth.

The win secured UP’s Final Four spot and they dedicate this season to their captain JD Cagulangan, who is in his final year with the team.

Alarcon emphasized that the performance was crucial for regaining confidence after a recent slump, adding that he aims to maintain composure as the team prepares for the next round against University of Santo Tomas (UST).

UP's victory denied UE an outright playoff berth and kept Adamson University in contention for a Final Four spot following their decisive win.
