Adamson beats UE, ends five-game losing streak

Adamson University snapped its five-game losing streak with a 45-37 victory over the No. 3-ranked University of the East in the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

AJ Fransman led Adamson with his career-high 14 points and nine rebounds, while Matt Erolon contributed another 14 points to secure their win and improve their record to 4-7.

Coach Nash Racela emphasized the importance of defense in limiting UE's key players like Wello Lingolingo, Rainier Maga, and Ethan Galang, who combined for just 15 points on 6-of-23 shooting from the field.

In the second half, Fransman made crucial three-pointers to lead a decisive run that sealed Adamson's victory in the final frame where UE was held scoreless for six minutes.

With this win, Adamson is now in solo fifth place with a 4-7 record and remains just one game behind fourth-place University of Santo Tomas.
