FEU beats UE 57-51 in UAAP women's basketball

Far Eastern University secured a narrow victory over the University of the East in the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball tournament with a score of 57-51 on Sunday.

Leading by 11 points entering the fourth quarter, FEU faced a late surge from UE but managed to hold off their rivals thanks to key contributions from MJ Manguiat, Erica Lopez, and Maria Paras.

Manguiat topped all scorers with 22 points, while coach Raiza Palmera-Dy acknowledged the team's resilience but emphasized the need to address high turnover numbers in future games.

UE's Rachel Lacayanga led their efforts with 15 points, while Kamba Kone and Jearzy Ganade each added double-digit scoring.

FEU improved to a record of 3-8 after this win and will face La Salle next Wednesday in a crucial game.
