Cebu City locks down six areas in five barangays due to COVID-19

Six areas in five Cebu City barangays were placed under a localized lockdown on July 25, 2020, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The affected areas include Sitio Eyha in Barangay Guadalupe, Balaga Drive to Sitio Cekalco in Barangay Labangon, Tuada Compound in Barangay Tisa, Sitio San Isidro and Abellanosa Compound in Barangay Quiot, and C. Mina Extension in Barangay Mabolo.

Residents are prohibited from leaving their homes except for medical emergencies, and quarantine passes will be suspended during the lockdown period which lasts three to 14 days.

The city government will provide food packs and basic necessities to affected residents, while health workers will conduct contact tracing and swab testing on identified contacts.
