Pasig locks down four streets in Manggahan due to rising COVID-19 cases

Four streets in Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City—Pipino, Labanos, Okra, and Ubas—are under a localized enhanced community quarantine starting Sunday due to rising COVID-19 cases.

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto announced the lockdowns via Facebook late Saturday night; as of Saturday, the barangay recorded 104 total cases, including six deaths and 50 active cases.

Residents are only allowed to leave their houses for work or emergency reasons and must show quarantine passes and company IDs at entry points monitored by police and barangay officials around-the-clock.

Pasig's latest data showed a total of 1,212 confirmed COVID-19 cases citywide, with 457 active cases, 661 recoveries, and 94 deaths.

The localized lockdowns will begin Sunday evening 'until lifted by the city government,' according to Mayor Sotto; relief goods will be distributed to minimize residents' need to go out and purchase goods.
