DOH reports 2 more Delta variant cases in ROFs

On Monday, July 5, the Department of Health (DOH) reported two additional cases of the highly-transmissible COVID-19 Delta variant in returning overseas Filipinos with travel history from Saudi Arabia.

Both new cases arrived on May 29 and completed their quarantine period. They have since been discharged as recovered.

The total number of Delta variant cases in the Philippines is now 18 recovered and one deceased, while there are still no local infections reported.

Additionally, the DOH detected 132 new cases of the Alpha variant, including 125 local cases and six that need verification.
