OCTA flags Davao, Baguio, Iloilo, San Fernando as areas of concern

OCTA Research flagged Davao City, Baguio, Iloilo, and San Fernando in La Union as areas of concern due to rising COVID-19 cases and high hospital bed occupancy rates.

Davao City had the highest daily average of new cases at 324 per day from June 25 to July 1, with a reproduction number of 1.41 indicating sustained transmission.

Iloilo also saw an increase in infections after a period of decline, with 78% of hospital beds and 94% of ICU beds occupied.

San Fernando in La Union experienced a significant rise in cases from 15 to 38 over the same period, with an incidence rate of 29.31 per day per 100,000 people and 78% of ICU beds filled.
