PNP reports 97% recovery rate for COVID-19

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported a recovery rate of 97% from COVID-19 on Thursday, with 29,117 recoveries out of 30,156 infections since the start of the pandemic.

Another police officer died due to respiratory failure and pneumonia, raising the PNP's death toll to 82.

The latest fatality was a 40-year-old staff sergeant from Camp Crame who tested positive on July 11 and passed away on July 27 after being hospitalized for breathing difficulties.

On Wednesday, an additional 275 police personnel recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total recovery count to 29,012 while active cases increased to 917 with 81 deaths.
