21 Delta variant cases in PGH, no outbreak among staff

As of Thursday, July 29, 21 cases of the Delta variant were admitted or tested at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH), with eight being hospitalized.

Of these, one patient died in the emergency room and another in the ICU; five recovered and discharged while one is still recovering.

Dr. Jonas Del Rosario, PGH spokesperson, noted that both fatalities were unvaccinated against COVID-19, whereas among those who recovered, only one had received a vaccine dose.

Del Rosario also reported that out of 13 remaining cases, five are healthcare workers at the hospital; all fully vaccinated but exhibited mild symptoms and did not require hospitalization.
