Experts urge 90% of vaccines for Metro Manila to achieve herd immunity

Experts from Octa Research recommend devoting 90% of all COVID-19 vaccines to Metro Manila for faster containment and economic reopening.

The remaining 10% should go to medical frontliners and senior citizens outside NCR, as they are at higher risk.

To achieve herd immunity by Christmas, Metro Manila must administer 200,000 doses daily and vaccinate 6.21 million people or 40-50% of its population using 12.42 million doses.

Public health expert Dr. Tony Leachon supports prioritizing NCR Plus for herd immunity due to it being the business epicenter and having 70% of cases, while also advocating brandless vaccinations.
