Young talents vie for Alas Pilipinas roster spot ahead of World Championship

Young players are vying for a spot in the final 14-man roster of Alas Pilipinas for the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, which the Philippines is co-hosting.

Coach Angiolino Frigoni has placed his trust in emerging talents such as Buds Buddin, Jade Disquitado, Louie Ramirez, Eco Adajar, Josh Ybañez, Leo Ordiales, and Peng Taguibolos.

Louie Ramirez, a two-time NCAA MVP and current Cignal player, aims to leverage his experience to secure a place in the team and carry the pride of the NCAA.

Ramirez stated that competing in the World Championship will be one of the best moments of his volleyball career.

Buds Buddin, who had a breakout performance in the 2024 SEA V.League, also expressed his aspiration to make the final roster.

Alas Pilipinas will begin their campaign against Tunisia at 7 p.m. on Friday, following an opening ceremony featuring K-pop group BOYNEXTDOOR and singer-songwriter Karencitta.
