Transport strike fails to paralyze Metro Manila

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reported that a transport strike initiated by Piston and joined by Manibela did not paralyze public transportation in Metro Manila.

MMDA chairman Don Artes stated that the prepared government vehicles to assist commuters were minimally deployed, indicating low demand.

The MMDA will not suspend the number coding scheme on Wednesday, November 22, due to the perceived failure of Piston to paralyze the public transport system.

However, 686 vehicles remain on standby until Friday, November 24, to provide free rides as Manibela's strike is also for three days.

Artes expressed confidence that public transport remained functional throughout the morning and assured continued monitoring and readiness to assist commuters.
