Shear line affects Central Luzon, PAGASA monitors LPA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated on Saturday, November 11, 2023, that the shear line is affecting Central Luzon.

Provinces including Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, and Camarines Norte are experiencing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the convergence of cold northeasterly winds and warm easterlies.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides in affected areas due to scattered light to moderate up to heavy rains.

The northeast monsoon, or "amihan," is prevailing in Northern Luzon, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains to the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.

Meanwhile, the easterlies are affecting the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, causing humid weather conditions with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA is also monitoring a Low Pressure Area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility, which may enter in the coming days and bring rain to eastern Mindanao.
