Shear line, amihan to bring scattered rains over Luzon, Visayas

The shear line and the northeast monsoon (amihan) are expected to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to several parts of Luzon and Visayas on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Quezon, and parts of southern Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought by the shear line.

Floods have already inundated low-lying communities in the Bicol region and severely swamped Samar and Panay islands in Visayas.

Cagayan Valley and Aurora will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the amihan, with no significant impact expected.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains from the amihan.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Possible flash floods or landslides may occur in some areas as a result of these weather conditions.

Luzon will see moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters, while Visayas and Mindanao are forecast to get light to moderate winds with slight to moderate waters.
