PNP partners with DOH to boost vaccine confidence

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is planning to collaborate with the Department of Health (DOH) to enhance public confidence in COVID-19 vaccines.

PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar aims to replicate a successful internal information campaign that utilized DOH materials to encourage vaccination among police personnel.

Eleazar emphasized the need for an aggressive information drive to combat misinformation about vaccine safety and efficacy, especially on social media.

This initiative follows the detection of the transmissible Delta variant of COVID-19 within the Philippines.

Within the PNP, the information drive has reportedly increased the number of personnel intending to get vaccinated from 51 percent to 93 percent.

Earlier in May, Eleazar instructed police commanders to maximize the PNP's 'Oplan Bandillo' to support the vaccination information campaign in their areas.
