PH COVID-19 cases surpass 362K with 1,509 new infections

The Philippines' COVID-19 total case count reached 362,243 with an additional 1,509 infections reported on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.

Total recoveries have risen to 311,506 after 911 new recoveries were logged.

The death toll increased to 6,747 with 60 new fatalities recorded, and 16 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths.

Rizal, Cavite, Manila City, Baguio, and Iloilo City reported the highest number of new cases.

Active COVID-19 cases in the country total 43,990, with 83% being mild cases, 11.6% asymptomatic, 2% severe, and 3.4% critical.

As of October 20, 47% of ICU beds nationwide were occupied and 22% of mechanical ventilators were in use.

Ninety percent of the newly reported cases were infected in the past 14 days.
