DOH logs 1,524 new COVID-19 cases, 14 deaths

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,524 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, bringing the total recoveries nationwide to 328,602.

The country's active Covid-19 cases are now at 37,489, with 93.8 percent having mild symptoms, 11 percent asymptomatic, 4 percent critical, and 2.2 percent severe.

Negros Occidental recorded the highest number of new cases with 115 infections, followed by Cavite with 76 and Benguet with 72.

The DOH logged 14 deaths, raising the total fatalities to 7,053.

As of Monday, about 55 percent of intensive care unit beds, 57 percent of isolation beds, and 64 percent of ward beds dedicated to Covid-19 patients are available.

Approximately 78 percent of the 2,000 ventilators are in use.
