PH logs 2,057 new COVID-19 cases, 19 deaths

The Philippines logged 2,057 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, October 24, 2020, bringing the total to 367,819.

There were 19 new fatalities reported, increasing the death toll to 6,934, and 442 more recoveries were reported, bringing the total to 313,112.

Of the 47,773 active cases, 83.7% have mild symptoms, 11.4% are asymptomatic, 3.1% are in critical condition, and 1.8% are severe.

The country has 151 licensed laboratories that have tested over 4.2 million individuals.

Forty-four percent of the country's intensive care unit beds are occupied while 22 percent of the mechanical ventilators are in use.

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation will settle its obligations to the Philippine Red Cross for COVID-19 tests next week, enabling the PRC to immediately resume its testing of swab specimens.
