Northeast monsoon brings rains across PH

Cloudy skies with rains are expected across several parts of the Philippines due to the northeast monsoon, easterlies, and the shear line.

Batanes will experience overcast skies with rain, and PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains could result in flash floods or landslides.

The northeast monsoon, or "amihan", has officially begun, signaling cooler weather nationwide.

The Babuyan Islands may have scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.

Easterlies are also predicted to cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

Strong winds and rough seas will prevail over extreme Northern Luzon, with moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas over the rest of Northern Luzon.

Tropical Depression Man-Yi continues to weaken outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and is not being monitored by PAGASA, who are also not monitoring any low pressure area outside PAR.
