DOH logs over 23K new COVID-19 cases, 27K recoveries

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 27,024 new recoveries on Saturday, bringing the total to 2,126,879, which is 90.6% of all infections.

New infections stood at 23,134, with the total number of active cases reaching 184,088.

The death toll reached 36,583 after it logged 255 additional fatalities.

To date, the Philippines has logged 2,347,550 confirmed Covid-19 cases.

Of the active cases, 90.5 percent have mild symptoms, 5 percent are asymptomatic, 2.53 percent are moderate, 1.3 percent are severe, while 0.6 percent are critical.

The DOH also reported a 26 percent positivity rate among 73,635 individuals tested on September 16.

Nationwide, 77% of intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 67% of isolation beds, and 73% of ward beds dedicated for Covid-19 patients are occupied.

In Metro Manila, 77% of ICU beds, 64% of isolation beds, and 74% of ward beds are in use.
