PH COVID-19 cases surpass 2.28M with over 16K new infections

The Philippines' total number of recovered COVID-19 cases has reached 2,076,823 with the addition of 24,123 new survivors.

Recoveries now account for 91.0% of the country's total 2,283,011 COVID-19 cases.

An additional 16,989 new infections were recorded, bringing the active case count to 170,446.

Of the active cases, 85.4% are mild, 9.8% are asymptomatic, 2.77% are moderate, 0.7% are critical, and 1.4% are severe.

The country also reported 214 new deaths, increasing the total fatality count to 35,742.

On September 13, approximately 25.9% of individuals tested for coronavirus turned out positive.

The DOH noted that 44 duplicates were removed from the total case count, and 135 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
