PH records 9,088 new Covid-19 recoveries, 18,659 new cases

The Philippines recorded 9,088 new recoveries from Covid-19 on Friday, increasing the total number of recovered patients to 2,240,599, representing a 91.3% recovery rate.

The Department of Health (DOH) also reported 18,659 new confirmed cases, bringing the total number of infections to 2,453,412 and active cases to 175,324.

The majority of active cases are mild (88.1%) or asymptomatic (6.9%), with smaller percentages being moderate (2.84%), severe (1.5%), and critical (0.7%).

The country's death toll due to Covid-19 remained at 37,405, accounting for 1.52% of all cases, as no new fatalities were reported on Friday.

Testing data from Wednesday showed that 24.2% of 76,624 individuals tested positive for Covid-19.

Healthcare facility occupancy rates are improving, with ICU beds at 77% occupancy, isolation beds at 65%, ward beds at 70%, and ventilators at 55% in use.
