Celebrities cast votes in midterm elections

Filipino celebrities, including Kim Chiu, Darren Espanto, Heaven Peralejo, Ogie Diaz, and Regine Velasquez, were among those who cast their votes in the midterm elections on Monday, May 12.

Many stars shared photos of their inked fingers on social media, encouraging Filipinos to participate in the democratic process.

Kim Chiu emphasized the importance of voting wisely as the first step towards meaningful change and good governance, adding that voters should pray for leaders with integrity and compassion not just for themselves but for the good of the entire nation.

A total of 68.43 million Filipinos are casting their votes for 18,320 elective positions nationwide.

Several celebrities who are candidates themselves also cast their votes, including Jeremy Marquez, nominee for the Solo Parents party-list; Jolo Revilla, incumbent 1st District representative of Cavite; Manny Pacquiao, senatorial aspirant; and Aiko Melendez, seeking reelection as Quezon City councilor.
