Celebrities win big in 2025 local elections

Several Filipino celebrities and personalities have achieved electoral victories in the 2025 local elections.

Vilma Santos-Recto is set to return as the Governor of Batangas, and her son Ryan Christian Recto was proclaimed congressman in Lipa City's 6th District.

Daniel Fernando secured a landslide victory for another term as Governor of Bulacan, with Alex Castro proclaimed as vice governor.

Arjo Atayde won his second term as congressman representing the 1st congressional district of Quezon City.

Aiko Melendez and Alfred Vargas secured second and third terms, respectively, as councilors in Quezon City's District 5.

Joaquin Domagoso will be a first-time councilor for Manila's 1st District, while his father Isko Moreno is poised to return as Mayor of Manila.

Angelu de Leon secured her second term as councilor in Pasig City's Second District.

Lucy Torres has been reelected as Mayor of Ormoc City, while her husband Richard Gomez topped the elections for representative in Leyte's 4th District.

Leren Bautista marked her second term as one of the winning councilors in Los Baños, Laguna.

However, Daniel Fernando lost the gubernatorial race in Laguna, Yul Servo failed to win as Manila's vice mayor, and Anjo Yllana did not win as vice mayor in Calamba City.
