Caraga DOH monitors first PUI for COVID-19

The Department of Health in the Caraga Region (DOH-13) is closely monitoring its first person under investigation (PUI) for Covid-19, a 25-year-old individual who traveled from Hong Kong.

The PUI is currently isolated and is reportedly recovering with mild symptoms.

Samples have been sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) for testing.

DOH-13 Director Jose Llacuna urged the public to continue practicing good hygiene and to verify information.

As of February 17, there are 12 persons still under monitoring (PUMs) in the region, with 24 having completed their monitoring period out of a total of 36 recorded PUMs.
