Bicol police seize over PHP114M in drugs, arrest 973 suspects

Over PHP114 million in illegal drugs were seized and 973 suspects arrested in Bicol from January to August 2025, according to PRO-5. The confiscated drugs included 80,647.41 grams of marijuana and 15,478.47 grams of shabu, with Camarines Norte having the highest value at PHP49.9 million. Of the 973 suspects, 101 are high-value targets, while 872 are street-level individuals, and 1,678 cases were filed against them. In addition to drug operations, police conducted 738 operations against loose firearms, resulting in 182 arrests and the recovery or surrender of 708 firearms, including 431 voluntarily turned over. Anti-drug efforts also led to the arrest of 61 New People's Army members, the neutralization of eight, and the surrender of 206 to authorities.

More than PHP22.8 million in illegal drugs were seized in Bicol in August 2025, with 125 suspects arrested. The drugs included 3,358.337 grams of shabu and 61.1000 grams of marijuana, with Camarines Norte having the highest value at PHP16.1 million. Five of the 125 suspects were identified as high-value individuals, while 120 were street-level pushers and users.
