P75M shabu seized in Clark warehouse

Authorities successfully seized an estimated P75 million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, also known as shabu, in a warehouse located in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

The high-value shipment was intercepted through a joint operation by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region III.

The illegal drugs were found concealed within a parcel declared as an industrial water chiller, which was shipped from Mexico and intended for an address in Cainta, Rizal.

During the inspection, operatives discovered 11.04 kilograms of suspected shabu packed inside the shipment.

Two individuals, identified as alias Dexs (52, from Cebu) and alias Maca (54, from Tarlac), were apprehended during the operation.

The arrested suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Authorities also recovered identification cards, mobile phones, a vehicle, and various shipping documents from the suspects.

The seized illegal substances will be submitted for laboratory examination to confirm their nature.

The successful operation involved a collaboration of several law enforcement agencies, including the NBI, PNP Aviation Security Unit 3, PNP Drug Enforcement Group, and PNP Mabalacat CPS.
