A total of 328 repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) arrived in Cebu on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
The first batch of OFWs, primarily seafarers, arrived via the passenger vessel St. Michael the Archangel after departing from Manila.
Some 267 seafarers were disembarked in Cebu City, with 220 escorted to quarantine facilities for a 14-day mandatory quarantine.
The remaining 47 seafarers were transported to Bohol via MV Lite Ferry 26.
The vessel also dropped off OFWs in Dumaguete City, Zamboanga, Iligan City, and Ozamiz City.
These OFWs were displaced by the COVID-19 pandemic and were stranded in Manila due to the enhanced community quarantine.
Upon arrival, the OFWs underwent screening processes including thermal scanning and the download of the WeTrace app, and will still undergo a 14-day quarantine as required by local ordinances, despite having completed a quarantine period in Manila.
