20,007 OFWs repatriated amid COVID-19 pandemic

These arrivals included 337 seafarer OFWs from Italy who worked on Costa Cruises ships, and 336 land-based Filipinos from the Maldives who worked in the tourism industry.

Upon arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the OFWs underwent rapid COVID-19 testing administered by the Philippine Coast Guard.

They were then briefed on quarantine protocols and transported to designated facilities for a mandatory 14-day quarantine.
