3 weather systems bring rains, floods to PH

Three weather systems, the northeast monsoon (amihan), easterlies, and shear line, are affecting the Philippines.

The shear line is causing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Dinagat Islands.

Moderate to intense rains, ranging from 100 to 200 millimeters, are expected over Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar from Wednesday to Thursday noon.

Moderate to heavy rains of 50 to 100 mm are expected over Camarines Sur, Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Dinagat Islands.

These conditions could trigger localized flooding, particularly in urbanized, low-lying, and river-adjacent areas.

The easterlies are bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to the rest of Mindanao.

The northeast monsoon is causing cold weather with cloudy skies and rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora, and is expected to bring more rain to the eastern sections of Luzon.

A gale warning has been hoisted over the northern, western, and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon, the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
