2,974 OFWs test negative for COVID-19

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported that 2,974 returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) tested negative for COVID-19 on June 13, adding to the 62,099 total negative test results.

Returning workers on the list are instructed to coordinate with PCG or Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) personnel at quarantine facilities to facilitate their travel to their home provinces or cities.

Quarantine clearances will be issued at either the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) or Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2.

Workers from Luzon will be brought to the PITX, while those bound for the Visayas and Mindanao regions will be brought to NAIA Terminal 2.

Defense Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana stated the government will limit the arrival of Filipino workers from abroad to 1,200 daily due to congestion in Metro Manila facilities, with plans to increase this to 1,500 to 2,000 once capacities are improved.

Returning Filipinos will only have to stay in the capital region for five days before they can go home.
