Clark airport welcomes over 600 OFWs via 2 flights

Clark International Airport (CRK) welcomed over 600 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in two flights since resuming operations.

The first flight on Friday carried 262 OFWs who arrived from Dubai via an Emirates commercial flight.

Another 342 Filipino seafarers from Barbados were repatriated on Saturday through a special Philippine Airlines flight.

Following mandatory COVID-19 RT-PCR testing, passengers were accommodated in hotels to await their test results.

On Tuesday, 337 repatriated OFWs, who tested negative for COVID-19, were sent off to their respective destinations in the country.

This repatriation effort was a collaboration between LIPAD Corporation, BCDA, CDC, and various government agencies, with expedited test processing ensuring swift returns.

Emirates will continue its flights between Clark and Dubai, and four additional repatriation flights are scheduled to arrive via Philippine Airlines.
