21 OFWs stranded in Clark Airport return to Northern Mindanao

Twenty-one overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) stranded in Clark Airport have returned to Northern Mindanao via a Philippine Airlines sweeper flight to Cagayan de Oro.

Their return was facilitated by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), the Department of Tourism - Region 3 and Region 10, and local government units in Northern Mindanao.

The OFWs underwent COVID-19 RT-PCR tests and all tested negative.

They received certifications of quarantine completion from the Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Quarantine, and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.

The OFWs were initially stranded due to Luzon's enhanced community quarantine and were provided with free lodging, meals, internet, and medical assistance at The Mansion Hotel.

Forty-two Davao residents previously stranded in Clark also went home on May 4 via a chartered flight.
