16.7K OFWs arrive in PH from April 1-20: DOJ
A total of 16,744 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) arrived in the Philippines from April 1 to 20, according to Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra.
In the same period, 27,062 non-OFW Filipinos also arrived.
A total of 851 OFWs were also permitted to depart the country, along with 4,164 non-OFW Filipinos.
Additionally, 914 foreigners arrived, including foreign spouses and children of Filipino citizens, and officials of foreign organizations.
These arrivals and departures occurred despite limited flights and the prohibition of non-essential travel under the enhanced community quarantine.
Several airlines continued to operate flights to and from the Philippines during this period.
