Zus Coffee's Thunderbelles advance to PVL All-Filipino quarterfinals

Zus Coffee's Thunderbelles secured their place in the quarterfinals of the PVL All-Filipino Conference with a four-set win over Capital1 on Thursday, March 13.

The team now faces Petro Gazz Angels in a best-of-three quarterfinal series starting Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig, marking Zus Coffee's first playoff appearance ever.

Chai Troncoso led the Thunderbelles with 15 points and 12 attacks, while Thea Gagate contributed significantly with 13 markers and strong net defense.

Coach Jerry Yee expressed pride in his team's performance, noting their potential to rise to the challenge again as they advance from an eighth-place finish after previously finishing last in their first two conferences.

The Thunderbelles' win also ensured that Capital1 missed the playoffs despite a solid preliminary round showing, while Cignal will participate in the PVL lottery for the 2025 draft.
