WHO ends COVID-19 global emergency, PH to review protocols

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that COVID-19 is no longer a global health emergency, which could help boost economic activities in the Philippines.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez said this decision reflects successful collaborative efforts to combat the virus and its variants, though public health protocols should still be followed.

The Department of Health (DOH) and the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) will meet to discuss and reassess policies in light of WHO's declaration.

The DOH assured that all factors will be considered before any changes are approved by President Marcos.
