Lawmakers call for bigger DOH budget amid COVID-19

Marikina Representative Stella Quimbo questioned the DOH's proposed P13 billion budget for 2021, which she considers inadequate compared to the P82 billion spent in 2020.

Quezon 4th District Rep. Helen Tan called for a P50 billion increase in the DOH’s budget, citing insufficient funds and poor data management during the pandemic.

Tan highlighted that only P2.5 billion was allocated for vaccine procurement and stressed the need to improve data reporting systems.
