DBM releases P5.3B from Bayanihan 2 funds

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released P5.3 billion from the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act, a month after it was signed into law.

This includes P2.5 billion for the DILG to hire and train new contact tracers and P855 million for the Office of Civil Defense under the Department of National Defense for various COVID-19 facilities.

Additionally, P820 million has been released to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to augment its assistance-to-nationals fund, helping Filipinos overseas affected by the pandemic.
