Lacson wants extra P10B for vaccine budget

Senator Lacson wants to add P10 billion more to the P2.5 billion budget allocated for COVID-19 vaccines in the 2021 national budget.

Health Undersecretary Rosario Vergeire said lawmakers have committed to increase the funding, with an additional P10 billion under unprogrammed funds and a commitment to support further needs.

The DOH estimates it needs roughly P12.1 billion to purchase enough doses for priority groups such as health workers and indigent Filipinos.
