VP Sara ready for Senate impeachment trial starting July 30

Vice President Sara Duterte said Monday she is prepared for any outcome of her Senate impeachment trial scheduled to begin on July 30.

Duterte faced impeachment by the House of Representatives in February due to growing tensions between her family and the Marcos clan, with over 200 congressmen endorsing the complaint against her.

She cast her vote in Davao City, emphasizing that regardless of the verdict, whether guilty or acquitted, she is ready for the consequences.

A guilty verdict could lead to her removal from office and permanent disqualification from public service.

Senate President Francis 'Chiz' Escudero released an initial timetable setting the Articles of Impeachment presentation on June 2 and the convening of the impeachment court on June 3.

Duterte previously hinted at potentially running for president in 2028 but noted these plans are premature.
