Velasco offers Cayetano deputy speaker post out of respect

Speaker Lord Allan Velasco offered Taguig-Pateros Representative Alan Peter Cayetano the position of deputy speaker out of respect, despite previous tensions.

Velasco stated that the offer is a sign of respect for Cayetano's past role as Speaker of the House and will personally extend it to him.

In an interview with GMA News’ Unang Balita, Velasco reiterated adherence to their original term-sharing agreement on speakership, including maintaining committee chairmanships.

Velasco also offered Cayetano the option to head a congressional committee instead.
