Velasco, Cayetano agree to work together for 2021 budget

Speaker Lord Allan Velasco and former Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano agreed to work together to fast-track the passage of the PHP4.5-trillion national budget for 2021 after meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday, October 13.

The two congressmen set aside their differences following a special session in which Velasco was ratified as Speaker, ousting Cayetano who had tendered his resignation.

Their agreement came after weeks of rivalry over the speakership position and deliberations on the proposed budget.
