Vaccine expert: Studying need for kids' COVID-19 booster

Vaccine Expert Panel chairperson Dr. Nina Gloriani said on Friday that they are studying the possibility of providing COVID-19 booster shots to children.

Gloriani stated during a Laging Handa briefing that while there is currently no recommendation for general population, including adults, second booster shots are being considered for elderly and immunocompromised individuals due to increased exposure risks.

She added that the panel is also looking into whether boosters might be necessary for children as well, but ongoing studies are still needed.
